Dropping this becauseFl is too naive to a fault and it's her naivety that made her too irritating. She's supposed to be a kind but she just came off as a pushover who needs saving from a male lead.

Ivern a year ago Pretty good
Actually good, tbh. I see the other reviews and I gotta stress that you fine bois may operate under a false presumption: the story's focus is not the romance, weirdly.

To start, technically speaking, the manga did its homework. Good art, good writing, good pacing.

The world building is also pretty nice. A land of poisons and flowers, tied to four families. A mysterious healing power. The brutal power struggle inside a Grand Duchy. All of this is the real meat, here, not the lovestory, which actually gets concluded in the first 5 chapters.

It goes like this: a boy that lived amongst snakes and intrigues meets a person who, despite being treated like sh** for all her life, still hasn't completely given up on people. She's got a pretty rational explanation why, too. She triggers his mommy issues and you know the rest: love at first sight. Credible, quick, and sweet.

After that, the plot develops in a battle between the couple and the antagonists, three families that are actually well characterized too. They are all manipulative and underhanded, but they are not evil, per se. Rodika actually monopolized power in the region for many generations now, and they kinda brainwash people into total obedience? Like, if they want to have a chance at power, they gotta do something. Hate the game, not the player. They are also all diverse enough, and I kinda like them.

It's a chiaroscuro play of morality. Just now, the first arc concluded, and with a pretty great and clever resolution too. FL knows how to use her brain, and she is a balanced protagonist, focused on defending her new home.

Sure, the characterization of the main couple could be sparkier, and the lovestory is a nice and dramaless source of diabetes at best, but you all are clearly being too harsh. 8+ on the Ivern Scale™️.

This story is so da** terrible 🤣

SPOILERS (if you can call them that, since nothing happens at all)

....the characters are so bland. Besides finding someone they trust, none of them have wants, goals, needs or any trait whatsoever.
....She comes from dark magic family... But they've never used their powers. No one in their kingdom does.
...The stepmom wants to tarnish her reputation... But why? Besides telling her "do what you need to do," there's no clear goal of why or nothing
... Her relationship with the duke feels sooooo fake and forced; they literally talked like 3 times. He kept thinking about his mom while she kept thinking about her light power, but there were no bonding moments that made us feel how they began loving each other.

So da** bad 🤣
