Meh
This story follows two young kabuki actors from rival families as they navigate their careers and their romance.
It's a nice story but the pace is way too slow. It's 60 chapters in and it feels like the story has only just gotten going. At the beginning, there's the usual teen angst, which is fine, but after they get together, the story hugely stagnates. Work is used as an excuse for this, but I don't think it works. There are also several time jumps (from a few months to two years long), which is just lazy writing. However, the biggest problem with the plot is the over-explanation of the various kabuki shows that they perform in; a brief summary would be OK because it gives context to the issues they're having, but the author often takes up whole chapters explaining it, which is just excessive. It's not very interesting and seems to be there purely to delay any actual plot happening. It's a shame.
Art style is nice, but kind of old-fashioned. It's mostly in black and white. Some of the characters are too similar-looking and I had to check who it was a few times, which was annoying.
S** scenes are very infrequent and the first one isn't for 30 chapters. They are also pretty tame, which I expected when the characters were in high school, but I thought things would heat up as they got older, and they don't. I would say this is more shounen-ai and not yaoi; if you want sm**, this isn't for you.
Overall it's OK but the rival actor thing is overdone, the kabuki stuff is a misfire and the plot is too slow. If you skip this manga, you aren't missing anything.

Cute,Informative and not Creepy!! I find it difficult to find BLs w/o any weird foggy unconsenual stuff happening and this one delivers. The story is very unique, as it has to do w Kabuki acting, and the main couple is very healthy w clear communication and boundaries. I also found this to be very informative on the culture of Kabuki, Overall a sweet romance read with a very unique setting.
