Sucks big time on Solo Leveling
I tried to like Solo Leveling, but after the Jeju Island arc, my enjoyment tanked. Pre-Jeju, it was a decent 3-star read, but afterward, the story got stuffed with unnecessary subplots instead of refining its premise.
The biggest flaw? The characters. Jin-Woo is boring, so forgettable I sometimes forgot his name. He doesn’t drive the story; things just happen, and he rolls with it. His goals are either nonexistent or resolved so fast they don’t matter. Curing his mother, for example, should’ve had lasting consequences, but she fades into the background immediately, with no impact on the world or the people around her.
The Ahjin Guild? Pointless. By the time Jin-Woo forms it, everyone already bows to him, so he could’ve just soloed gates. The supporting cast is forgettable, and his best friend is a chore to read. Characters are either with Jin-Woo or against him, if they oppose him, they’re humiliated or killed. Face-slapping is fun when earned, but here, the villains are so dumb they embarrass themselves before Jin-Woo even lifts a finger.
Worldbuilding is lazy and is obviously made for propaganda. Every nation except South Korea is greedy and selfish, with Japan’s S-rank gate crisis being the worst example. After Jeju, the world knows S-rank monsters can migrate, yet every country ignores Japan’s request for help, until one monster eventually reaches China, proving how stupid that was.
The romance? Useless. The heroine falls for Jin-Woo because… he smells different. No chemistry, no meaningful interactions—just the hottest guy and the hottest girl getting together. Their first date (200+ chapters in!) is cringeworthy, with forced fake-deep moments. Then they possibly have s*x outdoors? Feels like bad teenage fanfiction.
The pacing is a mess I won't even dive into that because it's so a**...so a** I'm not joking, "this happens" "that happens" "oh and this happens too" AHH narrative in one chapter.
So yeah, not worth a minute of my time. Overhyped trash.

Sucks big time on The Problematic Prince
This story’s title doesn’t lie—the prince is problematic. He’s not the usual angsty, abusive, misunderstood bad boy, but he’s still trash. He’s blunt, emotionally robotic, and treats the FL like a jester for his amusement, rewarding or mocking her like a pet. He never takes her seriously, and I have no idea what she sees in him.
The FL? A "strong" doormat. She endures endless mistreatment, lets people walk over her, and never truly stands up for herself. Her only sensible ally is her maid, Lisa. Despite studying to fit into aristocratic society, she remains helpless and dependent on the ML. Even after being humiliated, she takes no real action, keeps toxic maids around, and swallows her anger. People mistake this for strength, but she’s just good at being a victim.
Their relationship is a joke. She forgives too easily, and he never learns from their fights. A smile, a flirt, or a half-assed gesture is all it takes for her to move on. When she thought she was pregnant, he laughed instead of discussing it seriously—like, what’s so funny? Then he makes an inappropriate joke about only sleeping in her bed if she makes him touch her. Gross. She lets him do whatever, reinforcing his behavior.
Worst part? Their fights go nowhere. She starts them, but she’s always the first to cave. They don’t communicate, reflect, or grow—just laugh, move on, repeat. He doesn’t even answer when she asks how he feels about fatherhood, just laughs and puts her to bed. He treats her like a child he sleeps with occasionally.
The background characters? Just haters to highlight how much abuse the FL can take. She even rewards her toxic maids, thinking it’ll earn their loyalty when they’d drop her in a second. She’s naive, ignorant, and a textbook doormat.

Rocks on I Ship My Rival x Me
I loved it majority of the way through, but found the (official) ending (not including the side chaps) lackluster. WITH SIDES though it's pretty good, even if I wish a few loose ends would be tied. such as what was going on with william after (spoiler) discovering that yanyan had been speaking to her? It's more of a loose ends complaint than anything, but the main couple are tied up in a bow just fine. If I could, I'd rate it more as 4.5 than a full 5 but, sadly I cannot be that particular.

If you don't try to read it all in one go, you'll have a nice story to kill time with for a while.
I tried to read it all but after 60-70 chapters I found myself skipping parts and decided not to continue.
Recommended for in-between if you want to read a shallow romance story in the first arc, later it becomes more intriguing etc. and so the theme becomes a bit heavier.
